No More Learning

He accused himself of entering too soon out of a
life of ease and pleasure and too much idleness, into
a life of too much business, that required more la-
bour and experience and knowledge than he was
supplied for ; for he put on his gown as soon as he
was called to the bar ; and, by the           of
persons in place and authority, as soon engaged him-
self in the business of the profession as he put on his
gown, and to that degree in practice, that gave little
time for study, that he had too much neglected be-
fore ; besides that he still indulged to his beloved
conversation.
